The United States international defender has rebuilt his reputation at club level since returning to the Netherlands on a season-long loan. Having struggled to make an impact at Camp Nou, while also flopping during a loan spell at AC Milan, the 23-year-old former Ajax full-back is seeing his stock rise once more.

Barca are eager to put a deal in place for 2024, with it initially suggested that PSV would look to put a purchase option in place. The Eredivisie giants are, however, said to be stalling on Dest’s €10 million (£9m/$11m) fee – with efforts being made to bring that price down.
